SwimSafer classes in Jurong East — Stage 1 to Gold
SwimSafer is Singapore's national water-safety programme, and we coach every stage of it at Jurong East. We don't just rehearse the test — we build the survival and safety skills the programme is designed around, so your child is genuinely ready. Each official assessment stage has its own cap colour:
Water confidence, safe entry & exit, first floats and glides.
Unassisted entries, sculling and a 25m continuous swim.
All four strokes introduced, survival basics, 50m continuous swim.
Stroke development, deep-water confidence and a 100m swim.
Diving fundamentals, timed strokes and the H.E.L.P. survival position.
Standing dives, advanced survival skills and a 400m swim.
Where's the test? Lessons happen here at Jurong East, but the complex is not a centralised assessment centre — official SwimSafer tests are booked through the national CAMS portal, with Bukit Batok Swimming Complex the nearest test centre (test days Mon, Thu, Sat & Sun). Your coach preps your child and tells you exactly when they're ready.

Frequently asked questions
The pool & venue
Is Jurong East Swimming Complex open?
Yes — it partially reopened on 29 March 2026 after renovation. The wave pool, lazy river, kiddy pools, jacuzzi and the new splash pad are open. The 50m competition pool remains closed until 31 December 2026.
Do lessons still run while the competition pool is closed?
Yes. Our classes run in the teaching and kiddy pool areas, which are fully open — the competition pool closure does not affect learn-to-swim and SwimSafer lessons.
Did the water slides reopen?
No — the slide tower was removed during the renovation and replaced with a large kids' splash pad. The wave pool and lazy river are still going strong.
Where is the complex and what's the nearest MRT?
21 Jurong East Street 31, Singapore 609517, inside Jurong East Sport Centre. Chinese Garden MRT (EW25) is about a 13-minute walk; buses 98, 99, 157, 185, 187, 198, 333 and 334 stop along Jurong East Street 31, and there's a car park on site.
What are the opening hours?
Tuesday to Sunday, 8:00am–9:30pm. The complex closes every Monday for maintenance, but opens 8:00am–9:30pm when Monday is a public holiday.
Is pool entry included in the lesson fee?
Pool admission is paid separately to ActiveSG — entry is via the ActiveSG app or Singpass at the gate. Jurong East is classified as a feature pool, so entry costs slightly more than standard ActiveSG pools.
Lessons & levels
What ages do you take?
Children from around 5 years old [confirm minimum age] through to teens, and adults of any age — including complete beginners. Parent-and-toddler classes run at our Senja-Cashew flagship rather than Jurong East.
Should we pick group or private lessons?
Group lessons suit most kids — sociable, affordable and structured. Choose private if your swimmer is very nervous, needs to progress quickly for a SwimSafer stage, or prefers lessons at your own condo pool.
Are female coaches available?
Yes — female coaches can be arranged on request. Just mention it when you message us and we'll do our best to match you.
Are your coaches certified?
We're an MOE-registered swim school and our coaches are NROC-certified, led by Head Coach Alvin Ng. Safety-first coaching is the foundation of every class.
What happens if it rains?
If there's a lightning alert, the pool clears and the lesson pauses for safety. Lessons that can't resume are rescheduled — you never simply lose a paid lesson to the weather.
What should we bring?
Swimwear (no bermudas or cotton clothing, per pool rules), goggles, a swim cap, towel, and a padlock if you'd like a locker. Bring a water bottle — coaches keep hydration breaks regular.
